Homework due Wednesday the 2nd

Assignment 1 of 4
Work on finishing your IRP poster!!  Make sure all assignments (except the illustration and the IRP approval worksheet) are on your poster AND typed.  You can use whatever font and font size you like, BUT the font should be readable.

Clarifications about posters: do not roll them up and do not draw stick figures for your IRP Illustration assignment (#4).

What do you turn in to Ms. Ng/Mr. Lee and when?
-IRP poster before you walk into class

What do you turn in to Mr. Shimizu and when?
-IRP HW log in class (should have stamps for everything except #4 and #8)
-IRP SSR Reading Log in class (should have 8 boxes filled out ... 6 for Ms. Ng, 2 for me)
-Turnitin.com submissions of all written IRP assignments before 3:45 p.m. (#1, #2 minus the drawing of the symbol, #3, #5, #6, and #7 minus the drawings for each vocabulary word)

Assignment 2 of 4
Finish CATCH notes for Section 2 pp. 17-24 (even periods + period 1) or pp. 17-28 (period 5).

Remember to focus your notes on connections to the novella's theme(s) AND to look for examples of the following on each page: foreshadowing, repetition of key words, symbolism, imagery (animal, religious, etc.)

Assignment 3 of 4
Complete your OMAM assignments for Section 1 before Thursday/Friday:

-Character pages for George and Lennie for Section 1 (i.e., at least TWO quotes for each)
-TWO symbols in your symbol chart
-FIVE glossary words
-ONE quote from Section1 analyzed in your double-entry journal (Why is this quote important?  How does it connect to the novella's themes?)

Assignment 4 of 4
Bring your IRP book to the next class and your copy of OMAM so you can be productive if Ms. Leal's presentation does not take up the entire period.
