Assignment 1 of 6
Complete a draft of IRP #7 (the vocabulary assignment).  This means at least FIVE full entries out of 15 total.

What you need to do:
-Select 5+ unfamiliar words from your IRP book.
-Create a 5-column, 15-row chart as a digital document (e.g., Google doc)
-Column 1 (farthest left): word + part of speech
-Column 2: definition in your own words
-Column 3: quote in quotation marks ("...") + page number(s)
-Column 4: 1+ synonym and/or antonym for the word
-Column 5 (farthest right): a drawn illustration of the word's definition

Assignment 2 of 6
Make sure you have completed your fourth Achieve 3000 lesson ("Colleges Reach Out to Latinos") before you come to class Thursday/Friday.  The link for the article and the thought question you should answer are in the posting from Thursday the 20th/Friday the 21st.

Assignment 3 of 6
 Finish CATCH notes for the reading we were able to accomplish in class

P1= end of page 11
P2= end of page 13
P4= end of page 11
P5= end of page 11
P6= end of page 11

Remember to focus your notes on connections to the novella's theme(s) AND to look for examples of the following on each page: foreshadowing, repetition of key words, symbolism, imagery (animal, religious, etc.)

Assignment 4 of 6
Begin your character pages for George and Lennie.  Provide at least ONE quote from Section 1 before coming to Thursday's/Friday's class.

Set up your character pages, symbol chart, glossary and double-entry journal before next week.  That way, you'll be able to add to them over the weekend when we finish Section 1.

You may do your templates in your notebook, but I suggest creating them as Google document(s) (one document for each assignment, or one for all of them together).

Assignment 5 of 6
Bring your IRP book to the next class and your copy of Of Mice and Men.  Not bringing either of these will result in a demerit.

Assignment 6 of 6
Your IRP is due in roughly ONE week!  Finish the book before the weekend to be in the best position to turn your IRP in on time.
