Odd periods: Due to my absence Monday, it is extremely important that you have your rough draft materials complete before Wednesday. Wednesday will be your last opportunity (aside from email) to ask questions and get feedback before your essay is due.
Note about choice menu tasks: These will be included in your grade for the essay, so please complete them before Thursday/Friday. I will stamp them when I return to school.

Your notebook check for Unit 2 will be Wednesday during class! Make sure you come to class those days with the following assignments already complete:
PowerPoint notes for every story
CEL paragraphs for every story
Graphic organizers for every story

Bring your IRP book to class Wednesday so you can begin drafting one of your IRP assignments.

Bring $6.25 in exact change to class tomorrow so you can purchase your copy of Of Mice and Men in class.

It is already the middle of October, so you should be reading regularly every night in your IRP book. Ideally, you want to finish the book at least one week before your IRP poster is due. That means odd periods should finish by 10/27 and even periods should finish by 10/28. Determine how many pages you have left to finish and divide that by the number of days left (about 17-18).
Ex. Let’s say your a student in period 5. If your book is 225 pages long and you did your homework over the long weekend, you should have about 200 pages left to finish at most. If you divide 200 by 17 days, you get 11.76 … So, you should be reading at least 12 pages every night starting tonight if you want to finish on or before Thursday the 27th.
Those of you interested in attending Gertz’s first off-campus dance and/or Halloween parties that weekend should try to finish even earlier.

If you have any incomplete Achieve 3000 assignments, make sure you complete those and let me know when they are done either in person or via email. I will not change any Achieve 3000 grades until they are all complete, and you must complete them no later than Friday the 21st.
If you wish for the possibility of a grade change for your personal narrative grades, please resubmit a hardcopy of your revised essay stapled on top of your original essay on or before Friday the 21st.
