As Alliance comes to the close of our 10th Anniversary Celebration Year, we are pleased to share our 10th Anniversary video. As you watch, we hope you share our pride at what we have accomplished over the past decade. Now with 26 middle and high schools that serve more than 11,000 low-income students across Los Angeles, we are one of the largest charter school networks in the nation. More importantly, we have achieved a record of unprecedented success in the communities we serve, sending 95% of our graduates to college.

she was more like a beauty queen from a movie scene Assyria Mambo what you mean I am the one what day in Summerfield I never imagined that I would be able to succeed in high school attending the alliance shifted my train of thought so now that I'm constantly thinking about my future and I've seen the tide personally as a classroom teacher and when you're willing to make changes in the way we initially done the Miracles can happen quality brand in education It's a combination of an evolution and a revolution in education such an Innovative way for for kids to learn it's an awesome feeling to be part of the school I don't know if you could tell but I'm very happy to have my children in this Alliance Cooling alarm on way to college between two 9 mm to the city schools were overcrowded the dropout rate was huge and since we're not being prepared for college where is gofl Left Behind do they just kind of say well that's the way it is next great move on and I just kind of stopped caring I actually wasn't even thinking about my future mission was to turn around the kids nobody was interested we didn't have any money if you really want to accomplish your vision for what public education Cannon see-through sleeves and do it yourself  and in 2004 we opened our first Charter High School High the First Alliance school ever been so we were kind of the Prototype class it was very difficult for me to transition at first because there was just so many rules and structures Weaver building that was not a typical high school building we didn't have a gym to play basketball in a parking lot even though it was very risky what was the first year it's what made the difference is change me as precisely what works best for me students in Alliance schools are in cheese where half the students are not graduating from high school in this area drugs and violence and gangs it's very real who's that students of color students of poverty could consistently learn at high levels they believe in my kids that they could do good a lot smaller behind the teacher with each individual student would have to be a stereotype I remember going to their graduation they started with 140 kids in ninth grade graduated the same hundred forty kids four years later shut about the alliance was their college-going mission once it became a reality and I got accepted from UCLA I just automatically started because I never thought it was going to happen now we're seeing our graduates come back to teach in Alliance school I felt that Alliance made a difference in my life and I it's a comeback this is the 26th school we have almost 11,000 students you're proving that we can accomplish more with less funds it also proves that it can be done in scale truly a scalable model will you see it's across all of our school that's not just one or two schools knocking it out of the park they're Paving the way they're setting the standard there's no greater feeling in the world 95% of our students walk that stage that's almost 40% higher than the local school district 95% of alliance are emitted to college had my first week of law school I cannot be more thankful I even tell everybody that I see with kids I always telling them to I'm here  we also believe there is still a ton of work to do we can keep growing the alliance with the help of everyone the alliance is really our opportunity to make a difference and when you invest in children especially children of color and children of poverty we become a stronger neighborhood is our future this is the future of Los Angeles the future of America just got to be a good deal so you are to be involved too
