FEBRUARY 2010
Alliance/Merck Ciencia (Science) Hispanic Scholars Program
- Award Amount: Up to $5,000 for four years of college
- Summer internships stipends up to $22,500 *up to $7,500 for each of 3 years) to work in research setting.
- Only for High School seniors
- For sudents who want to access higher education and degrees in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)

Requirements:
- High School students (9th-12th)
- Students should be involved in volunteer efforts in their schools and communities, and/or have a work history, and have solid grades

Requirements:
- Only incoming (Freshman) University of California, Berkley students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.
- Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA
- Gross family income of $86,000 or less

Award Amount:$500-$1,000
Requirements:
- Must be of Chicano/Latino descent
- Must be an undocumented student
- Must be a graduating twelf grade student who will enroll in an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the 2010-2011 academic year

Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest
Requirements:
- Grades 6-8, and grades 9-12
- Your essay must be primarily based on an interview with a woman currently working in a mathematical career and be approximately 500 to 1000 words in length

Requirements:
- Be a high school senior or college freshman
- Write an autobiography of your activities relating to clear disarmament, conflict resolution, or community service
- Describe your plan for contributing to a healthy planet
- Provide information on your school and community activities
- Two letters of recommendation

Association of Raza Educators (A.R.E)
- Award Amount: $2,000-$2,500
Requirements:
- Must not be eligible for any type of federal or state grants.
- Must be a graduating senior at a high school within the LAUSD---includes LAUSD charter schools.
- Must be able to attend our 4TH Annual A.R.E awards ceremony
- Candidates must be full-time registered students at an accredited college or university for the 2010-2011 academic year.

PFLAG National Scholarship Program
Award Amount: $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000
Requirements:
- You are a graduating senior entering higher education for the first time in 2010 (if you graduated in 2009 and took a year off you are still eligible to apply).
- You self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or as a straight ally
- You demonstrate an interest in service to the LGBT community.
- You have applied to an accredited higher education institution.

- The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.
