Gertz Ressler - Halloween Dress Code
Students have the opportunity to wear costumes to school on Halloween.
The rules are as follows:
1. A student must be in costume or in school uniform. Face paint and free dress clothing is not a costume. Free Dress may be purchased from Student Government.
2. Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, disabilities, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, or individual (staff or student) at the school.
3. School rules for appropriateness apply (i.e. no revealing costumes that violate the normal dress code policy (i.e. tank tops, midriff tops, short shorts or skirts more than 3" above the knee are not allowed. References to drugs, alcohol, gangs, sexual activity, etc. are not allowed).
4. No weapons, toy weapons, or props replicating weapons are to be brought to school.
5. No full masks or face paintings that make the student unrecognizable.
6. Costumes must not impair a student's vision, movement, or participation in normal classroom learning activities, including PE.
